The other day we reported that the Army was investigating why two U.S. Army attack helicopters hovered just outside Kid Rock’s house in Nashville. Allegedly the helicopters were on a training exercise. Kid Rock posted two videos of him pointing to and saluting two AH-64 Apache helicopters flying low and hovering adjacent to his swimming pool. Kid Rock, rock star and conservative activist, has been one of Trump’s most visible celebrity allies, regularly appearing at Trump campaign events.
Tuesday U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the suspensions of two U.S. Army helicopter pilots who hovered next to entertainer Kid Rock’s swimming pool while he clapped and saluted over the weekend has been lifted. Hegseth said in a social media post that there was “No punishment. No Investigation. Carry on, patriots. Speaking at the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump suggested maybe the crews shouldn’t have done it before adding, “I like Kid Rock, maybe they were trying to defend him, I don’t know.”
According to Maj. Jonathon Bless, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division, the helicopters were on a training mission when they stopped by Kid Rock’s house and they also flew over a “No Kings” protest against Trump in downtown Nashville, but according Bless their presence had nothing to do with the protest.
