Container Ship Issued A Mayday 2 Minutes Before Striking Column of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge [VIDEO]

When Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed, after a container ship struck a column, the video footage looked unreal, like a scene from a scary movie.  The reality is that the horrifying incident was real, people are still missing and as of 7:30pm on Tuesday night the search is being suspended.  There was an eight man construction crew working to fix potholes on the bridge at the time it was hit by the container ship, two of those individuals were rescued and six remain unaccounted for.

President Joe Biden that the collision was a terrible accident and that the federal government will pay for the “entire cost” of rebuilding the Key Bridge, adding that he has “directed [his] team to move heaven and earth to reopen the port and rebuild the bridge as soon as humanly possible.”

So what exactly happened??

The container ship Dali is a Singapore-flagged ship and it was en route to Sri Lankan capital city of Colombo when the collision took place about 1:30 am Tuesday morning.  According to reports 2 minutes before the collision Dali issued a mayday, giving authorities minutes to stop traffic to the bridge. While the cause of the ship crashing into a major Baltimore bridge is under investigation, Governor of Maryland Wes Moore told a media briefing that the container ship lost power before colliding with the structure.

Let’s keep our brother and sisters in B-More uplifted in our prayers.
