As we in America continue to flatten the pandemic curve that we have been living through for over a year and some states are lifting mask and social distancing mandates, after many have taken one of the three COVID-19 vaccines, President Joe Biden is still pushing to get more age eligible people vaccinated and has now came up with a pretty clever/creative way to accomplish the mission of having 70% of Americans being fully vaccinated, coming to a black-owned beauty salon and barbershop near you ‘Shots At The Shop’.
Everybody knows that black-owned beauty salon’s and barbershop’s are the soul of the black community.
Joe Biden has reached out to the black community, in-which COVID-19 pandemics devastation was felt the most with the ‘Shot At The Shop’ initiative. With the help of beauty brand SheaMoisture and the University of Maryland Center for Health Equity, ‘Shot At The Shop’ initiative will include, 1,000 Black-owned beauty salons and barbershops are to be recruited and trained to administer and promote the COVID-19 vaccinations throughout the country for the month of June to share information about the vaccine with customers, display educational materials, host on-site vaccination events and also provide free childcare for parents wanting to get vaccinated.
According to President Joe Biden:
“America is heading into the summer dramatically different from last year’s summer. A summer of freedom, a summer of joy, a summer of get-togethers and celebrations, an all-American summer that this country deserves after a long, long. dark winter that we’ve all endured.’”
Now that sounds like a plan. What are your thoughts.
