California Earthquake On The 4th Was Largest in 20 Years

The 4th of July started off in Southern California with a bang but not from fireworks.

While most of the country was preparing for cook-outs, parades and fireworks, Southern California was having an earthquake.  Reports from California are saying that a earthquake struck registering 6.4 magnitude on the Richter scale in the Mojave Desert Thursday damaging homes, setting off fires and injuring several people.  The epicenter was near Ridgecrest, about 100 miles north of Los Angeles.  It’s also being reported that this is the largest earthquake in California in 20 years.  Many that experienced the earthquake on the 4th thought it was the big one.

However officials fear it may trigger another powerful quake in the days ahead.

We will be praying for our brothers and sisters in California.
