Former professional, middleweight, light middleweight, light heavyweight, cruiserweight, boxer, Kingston Jamaica native Mike ‘The Bodysnatcher’ McCallum was found dead in his car at the age of 68 years old.
Reportedly according to the The Jamaica Observer, Mike McCallum passed away Saturday while he was on his way to the gym in Las Vegas. According to the report McCallum fell ill and pulled over to the side of the road where he was eventually found by deceased by police.
In Mike McCallum 20 year career as a professional boxer he held a 49-5 record that included 36 knockouts.
Mike McCallum — who was nicknamed “The Bodysnatcher” for his hard-hitting punches — was the first Jamaican to win the world title in 1984 when he defeated Sean Mannion of Ireland at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
