Book ‘Only God Can Judge Me: The Many Lives of Tupac Shakur’ Reveals That Janet Jackson Wanted Him Aids Tested Before The Poetic Justice Kiss

Cult classic movie ‘Poetic Justice’ directed by the late by John Singleton in 1993 starred legendary super stars, singer Janet Jackson and rapper Tupac Shakur was about the still grieving after the murder of her boyfriend, hairdresser Justice (Janet Jackson) writes poetry to deal with the pain of her loss. Unable to get to Oakland to attend a convention because of her broken-down car, Justice gets a lift with her friend, Iesha, and Iesha’s postal worker boyfriend, Chicago. Along for the ride is Chicago’s co-worker, Lucky (Tupac), to whom Justice grows close after some initial problems.  The on scene that burns in fans minds was the kiss between Tupac and Janet leaving many wondering was their something going on between them after the cameras went off.  Well it’s being reveal in a new book about the late rapper Tupac Shakur that the kiss we thought was hot was drama filled behind the scenes.

Reportedly Jeff Pearlman’s book on Tupac Shakur, Only God Can Judge Me: The Many Lives of Tupac Shakur, drops today, October 21st, with some pre-social media tea. 

According to the book Janet Jackson allegedly asked producers to have Tupac Shakur take an AIDS test before they filmed a kissing scene for the 1993 romantic drama, according to a new Tupac biography from famed author Jeff Pearlman. Pearlman claims Janet, who was engaged to René Elizondo Jr. at the time, wasn’t feeling Tupac’s playboy image and had concerns about how the rapper was spending his time off the set.  Apparently, leading up to the kiss, Tupac made remarks about “overwhelming Jackson with his lips and mouth,” which prompted the songstress to call a meeting with producer Steve Nicolaides. Pearlman says Nicolaides told him Janet didn’t “want to swap saliva with [Tupac]” until test results came back proving he was “healthy and clean.”

Producers took the request to Tupac who had a fit and refused, but ultimately the kiss went down.
