Isn’t there an old saying that goes “someone else’s trash, is someone else’s treasure” ? Well when the Cleveland Browns shocked everyone (teammates, fans and Joe) by trading QB Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals along with a sixth-round draft pick for a fifth-round pick, everyone was thinking WTH are they doing now. Whatever the Cleveland Browns organization was Bengals fans made sure they showed their appreciation for it when they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night football.
Old Joe Flacco who previously played for the Baltimore Ravens for 11 seasons, during which he won the AFC North twice and won Super Bowl XLVII, nine days after his trade to the Cincinnati Bengals, he led his new club to a 33-31 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Paycor Stadium. Needing points on the final drive to win, Flacco propelled the offense down the field, with kicker Evan McPherson’s 36-yard field goal with seven seconds left sealing the victory, and all the while Bengals fans were chanting “THANK YOU CLEVELAND!” Joe Flacco’s debut stats as the Bengals quarterback were 342 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 31-of-47 completions.
