Police were called to the home of 3 year veteran Baltimore Police officer Eric Banks Jr. because of a custody dispute involving his 15 year old stepson Dasan Jones, mother, who said she called police when she was not able to reach her son Dasan by phone. When police arrived Eric Banks Jr. agreed to let the officers search his home when officer found a hole in the wall. Eric Banks Jr. told officers it was a gun safe however when the checked they made the gruesome discovery that it was his teenage stepson Dasan Jones body. When officers tried to remove Banks from the home he asked could he kiss his other two children before he tried to remove one of the officers guns from their holster.
According to one report Dasan had injuries to his neck, face and mouth. Police found his wet, bloody clothes smelling of bleach in a dresser drawer. The medical examiner’s finding was Dasan Jones death was a homicide by asphyxiation, and now Eric Banks Jr. has been official charged in his death.
According to Eric Banks Jr’s attorney Banks claimed he found Dasan Jones dead and had interned to kill himself.
Also according to authorities Banks was already on suspension for another matter.
