Austin, TX, Police Fatally Shoot A Teen After Mistaken His Water Bottle For A Gun [VIDEO]

Protests have erupted following a tragic death Austin, TX 17 year old who was shot by police who mistaken his water bottle for a gun.

Allegedly a 911 caller said a male was in a parking lot with a gun. The caller provided a description and said the person was, at times, brandishing the gun.  Officers responded and fired dozens of rounds into 17 year old Anthoneil Williams II after he lifted up his shirt. Williams was unarmed, carrying only a water bottle.

Police Chief Lisa Davis said officers told Williams to keep his hands up and asked if he was okay. She said he then “very quickly, very suddenly” raised his shirt with one hand and reached into his waistband with the other, prompting three officers to fire several shots. Chief Davis said the investigation indicated Williams was the person who made the 911 call from his phone, describing the situation as “suicide by police.”
