Attorney Releases Statement Saying Rumors Are False Regarding Lil Tjay Being Shot Or Charged In Connection To Offset Shooting

Breaking news last night was that former Migos member, rapper Offset was shot outside a Florida casino, around 7 p.m. in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  Video of the aftermath quickly went viral on social media, with police appearing to detain at least two people outside the casino entrance. Police later confirmed those two arrests.   Offset’s spokeswoman, Nathalie Moar, confirmed Offset was the one shot.  Not long after that rumors started flying that the streets started saying that Lil Tjay was shot.  Then this morning reports have been made that Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested and charged.  According to Rapper Lil Tjay’s attorney in a statement neither are true his client wasn’t shot or arrested.

In a statement released by his attorney, the “false rumors” were slammed, adding, “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources and to verify the accuracy of any reporting before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”

Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tian Jaden Merritt, faces charges of disorderly conduct and driving without a license in the aftermath of Monday night’s shooting in the hotel’s valet area.  According to reports, Lil Tjay, 24, and Offset, 34, were together at the casino. However, Lil Tjay’s attorney told 7News his client has not been charged in connection to the shooting.
