ABC Blasted For Airing Jason Aldean Racist/Pro-Lynching Song

It’s funny how Hip Hop used to get all kind of political negative condemnation over their lyrics back in the day.  Now it seems country music artists is getting dragged for his new song and music video however politicians don’t seem have much to say. 

46 year old country music singer Jason Aldean defended himself Tuesday via his own Instagram after CMT pulled the his controversial music video for the song “Try That in a Small Town” from its rotation amid accusations it is pro-lynching and racist.

“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,”

Now you can add ABC to the list of folks getting dragged for the song.

Country music fans blasted ABC for airing Jason Aldean’s pre-taped performance of his controversial song “Try That in a Small Town” as part of its CMA Fest concert special Wednesday hosted by Dierks Bentley, Elle King, and Lainey Wilson, Wednesday’s CMA Fest broadcast also featured performances by Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Eric Church, and Luke Combs.

Here are some of the lyrics to “Try That in a Small Town”:

“Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk / Carjack an old lady at a red light / Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store / Ya think it’s cool, well, act a fool if ya like.”

 “Cuss out a cop, spit in his face / Stomp on the flag and light it up / Yeah, ya think you’re tough.

“Well, try that in a small town / See how far ya make it down the road / Around here, we take care of our own / You cross that line, it won’t take long / For you to find out, I recommend you don’t,”
