Last Saturday the world was horrified when an 18 year old walked into a Buffalo New York Top’s grocery store with the intent on killing innocent Black people, killing 10 Black people and the manager trying to call for help was hung up on by the 911 operator.
According to the Buffalo Top’s manager:
“I tried to call 911, and I was whispering because I could hear him close by, and when I whispered on the phone to 911, the dispatcher started yelling at me saying ‘Why are you whispering? You don’t have to whisper….And I’m trying to tell her like, ‘Ma’am, he’s in the store. He’s shooting. It’s an active shooter. I’m scared for my life.’ And she said something crazy to me and then she hung up in my face. And I had to call my boyfriend to call 911.”
It is now being reported that Erie County has placed the dispatcher (who has not been identified), that took that 911, on administrative leave pending a disciplinary hearing where “termination will be sought.”
The alleged Buffalo shooter has been identified as 18 year old Payton S. Gendron of Conklin, New York, and has been charged with first-degree murder. Gendron has pleaded not guilty, and his family is alleging that the COVID-19 was the reason for Gendron snapping.
