8 People Killed Several Injured During Astroworld Music Festival [VIDEO]

As things continue to return to normal after this long COVID-19 pandemic people are returning to sporting events as well as concerts at full capacity.  With crowds this large you would think the risk of contracting COVID-19 would be the headline news however last night in Houston, Texas the breaking news is that 8 people were killed and several were injured from a crowd surge during the Astroworld Music Festival while headliner and festival organizer Travis Scott was performing.

About 50,000 people were at the sold-out Astroworld Festival, an outdoor music festival at NRG Park stadium complex where the Astrodome and the NRG Stadium stand, while rapper Travis Scott was on stage performing when “The crowd for whatever reason began to push and surge towards the front of the stage, which caused the people in the front to be compressed — they were unable to escape that situation,” 

According to witnesses Friday nights show at the Astroworld Festival paused then continued, these witnesses said they had no idea that the tragedy had happened.

A command post has been set up at the Wyndham Hotel on Kirby Dr in The South Loop for people that are searching for answers and that have not heard from love ones that attended the concert.

Saturday’s events of the two day Astroworld Music Festival has been canceled.
