7 Rochester Cops Suspended For Chicago Mans Death [VIDEO]

In Rochester, New York, on March 23, 2020, on wet, snowy, cold day, 41 year old Daniel Prude from Chicago was having a mental health issuewhen his brother called the police for assistance with him.   Police placed Daniel Prude who was naked in handcuffs  then proceeded to put a spit hood over his head.   When the ambulance arrived Prude was taken to hospital were he was declared brain dead, then died a week later.  His death was ruled a homicide by medical examiners due to asphyxia complications.  No charges were brought on the officers until now that the bodycam has been released.

What the video shows is that an officer held Prudes head to the ground after they placed his head in a hood.

In a press conference today Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren announced that 7 police officers that were there when the incident took place have now been suspended. When the mayor was asked if she thought Mr. Prude would have been treated differently if he was white her response was “I do”.
