The little picture when it pertains to abortion is, a female gets pregnant decides she just doesn’t want the baby and would got get an abortion, because prior too a couple years ago it was a woman’s body her choice. The bigger picture of abortion if a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, a serious health issue is caused by the pregnancy or a woman had a serious health issue that would be complicated by a pregnancy she used to could abort. Abortion was never a black and white procedure however that is what politicians made it, now a Texas family is suing State Officials and doctors alleging abortion laws led to the death of their loved one.
San Antonio, TX native 37 year old, Tierra Walker experienced serious health complications during her pregnancy, including seizures, blood clots and dangerously high blood pressure. Her family alleges that Walker repeatedly sought an abortion as her condition worsened but was unable to obtain one. Walker was 20 weeks pregnant when she died in December 2024. The lawsuit says her cause of death was preeclampsia and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-related condition involving high blood pressure that can become life-threatening. Texas’ abortion ban took effect in August 2022 after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The law includes an exception when a pregnancy poses a risk of death or substantial impairment of a major bodily function.
Tierra Walker who was married and teenage son family has sued the state’s Republican attorney general, Ken Paxton, and doctors who treated her, claiming an abortion could have saved her life and the state’s near-total ban on the procedure is unconstitutional.
