A 17 year old claimed to have called his mother and drove to her job, saying he thought he hit a deer. When people at his mothers job looked at the damage to the truck, they discovered a woman’s body in the truck bed.
According to Oklahoma police the 17-year-old driver was allegedly intoxicated and speeding when he struck 22 year Raynesha Scyrus. The 17 year old told police he thought he had hit a deer before calling his mother and driving to her job hours later. To make matters even worse Master Sergeant Gary Knight said, the 17 year old was apparently driving down the road, possibly shooting video with his phone while he was doing so.
The victim, Raynesha Scyrus, mother said she wants the teen suspect charged as an adult. Police arrested him on complaints of DUI, manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. His court records are sealed because of his age.
A judge set the teen’s bond at $100,000 and ordered that he not drive if released.
