Tyler Perry At 57 Years Old Say’s He’s Ready To Slow Down and Moving To Puerto Rico [VIDEO]

Tyler Perry has written and produced many stage plays, which were at their successful peak in the 1990s and the 2000s. His breakthrough performance came in 2005 with the film Diary of a Mad Black Woman, which he wrote and produced as an adaptation of his stage play of the same name, since then Tyler Perry has been Mr. Black Hollywood providing jobs to many that were snubbed in “white Hollywood.’ Now at the age of 57 years old Tyler Perry is doing what many his age are doing, thinking about slowing down and enjoying life, which starts with moving to Puerto Rico.

Tyler Perry on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle said he’s planning to relocate to Puerto Rico with his 11-year-old son, Aman, at the start of 2027.

“Yes, I am officially — you’re the first to hear this — I am officially moving to Puerto Rico,” … “No, this is real.”…”Yep, moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I’m pulling back a whole lot.”

According to Tyler Perry, the decision to step back is driven by a desire to prioritize his time as he gets older.

“Getting older [inspired this],” … “It’s time to slow down a bit, enjoy more time with my son and just take it all in.”

Tyler Perry also shared that spending more time with his son Aman has also helped him with issues related to his own childhood trauma.  As far as getting married TP says marriage isn’t for him, because he fears the financial risk of divorce
