Newly Released Documents And Text Messages Shares Some Disturbing Alleged Things About Karmelo Anthony

Karmelo Anthony, at 19 years old was sentenced to 35 years in prison following being found guilty of murder in the stabbing death of Austin Metcalf, 17, at a stadium in the Dallas suburb of Frisco.  Karmelo Anthony initially requested a court-appointed lawyer (attorneys Donny Perales and Lara Bracamonte Davila) for the appeal. However, his family has since retained a new, high-profile private legal team led by appellate attorney Russell Wilson II, civil rights lawyer Brooke Cluse (Ben Crump Law), and Texas NAACP President Gary Bledsoe to handle the appeal.  Unfortunately for team Karmelo Anthony a judge has handed them an ‘L’ by denying Karmelo Anthony’s appeal for a new trial.

Reportedly a 75-page collection of documents have been released that includes photos of Karmelo Anthony holding firearms, including a screenshot from a video recorded in 2024 showing him flashing a handgun and another showing him holding an AK-47-style rifle with three other teens. The documents also include text messages Karmelo Anthony allegedly sent to his girlfriend, Valeria Perez, one week before the stabbing. In one exchange, he wrote, “I f****** despise black b******.” In another message, he said, “F****** n******. They need to go die.” The messages also allegedly show Anthony discussing breaking into a neighbor’s home and stealing a watch, as well as telling Perez that he brought a gun and knife to school.

During a recent hearing, prosecutors revealed a text message where Karmelo Anthony allegedly wrote a chilling comment about stabbing someone just hours before 17-year-old Austin Metcalf was killed.

“When I stab somebody, I’m gonna lick the blood off the blade.” Another message reportedly showed a photo of a knife with the words, “I’m lowkey on the verge.”
