Notorious B.I.G.’s Former Manager Named Sole Trustee Of Late Voletta Wallace Over Faith Evans

You learn peoples true colors during weddings and funerals.  However in the case of someone dying things can get messy with or without paperwork giving instructions on what is to happen upon death.  The Notorious B.I.G.‘s former manager Wayne Barrow has secured a win in court over the rapper’s widow Faith Evans, who he claims has tried to block him from his rightful share of the late star’s trust.

Courts granted judgment on two claims in a court case against Faith Evans over control of The Notorious B.I.G.’s intellectual property.  

According to PEOPLE, Faith Evans and Voletta Wallace formed the Notorious B.I.G. LLC company, which holds the rights to the late rapper’s intellectual property in 2007. The documents say that when Voletta Wallace died, she left her interest in the company to a trust, and Faith Evans became the sole manager of the company.  Faith Evans and Christopher ‘Notorious B.I.G.’ Wallace’s son C.J. was initially named Voletta Wallace’s successor trustee, however Voletta Wallace amended things weeks before she died, instead naming Barrow as the sole trustee. When Barrow tried to assert his rights to the trust Faith Evans allegedly blocked him because she was upset that her son C.J., Valetta’s grandson and Biggie’s son was removed. The court granted Barrow’s motion for summary judgment and dismissed Evans’ counterclaim, arguing that he is in fact a permitted transferee and Evans has no reason not to make the distributions to which he is entitled.

Biggie and Faith Evans were married in 1994, and although they were estranged they were legally married at the time of his death in 1997.
