29 year old Tasia Fortune was found hanging from a tree in the backyard of an abandoned residential property in Mississippi. Reportedly her body had been there for 3 to 4 days and required a fire ladder truck to get down. Law enforcement officials have not yet stated whether or not they suspect foul play, maintaining that it is a strictly active investigation. Reportedly authorities have questioned a person of interest.
Terence Anderson, 65, is being said to be a person of interest in connection with Fortune’s death, was taken into custody on an unrelated weapons charge. According to a family member Tasia Fortune and Terence Anderson have a 5-year-old son together and that the child lived with Terence. Terence Anderson, a convicted felon, who has been out of trouble for years and has a job working as a painter, denies any involvement but told police that he had an argument with Tasia Fortune. Terence Anderson was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to WLBT. A judge set his bond at $250,000.
Tasia Fortune’s mother, Christy Spivey, told ABC News that she does not believe her daughter died by suicide. Spivey said she last saw Fortune on July 26, when Fortune traveled to Kentucky for a family reunion. She described her daughter as being “at peace” when they last saw each other.
