Miami Secret Service Agent Charged In Hazing Incident That Left 2 Kappa Alpha Psi Pledges With Life Threatening Injuries [VIDEO]

A Miami U.S. Secret Service agent Marquez Pinder, is accused of serving as “dean of pledges” during four separate hazing sessions for a chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, and now faces charges including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of attempted manslaughter with a deadly weapon, and one count of hazing with a deadly weapon. Court records allege the two victims were repeatedly struck with paddles and canes over the four-day span, with one victim’s report of “urinating blood” reportedly dismissed by fraternity members during the first session.

The three men, Marquez  Pinder, 29, and co-defendants Lamar James, 26, and Elijah Delano Dyous, 29, allegedly used canes and paddles to beat two Kappa Alpha Psi alumni fraternity pledges over the course of four days in early April at two locations in Miami-Dade County. One of the victims, the law school student, was beaten so severely he suffered kidney failure and had to undergo surgery.

Marquez Pinder is currently on administrative leave, and the national Kappa Alpha Psi organization has said it maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy on hazing.
