Rapper Boosie Badazz sought a presidential pardon to wipe away a federal conviction for illegal firearm possession stemming from a 2023 arrest in San Diego. Pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a gun, he petitioned for clemency to clear his record, restore his rights, and avoid the risk of returning to prison. Boosie Badazz never received the pardon, however a federal judge in San Diego sentenced him to time served, along with three years of supervised release and community service, sparing him from additional prison time. Good news right? Yes and no, Boosie Badazz kind of got what he was looking for but he had allegedly paid $600K for the pardon he never received.
Boosie Badazz is suing political operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman after paying them $600,000 to help secure a presidential pardon from Donald Trump that ultimately never materialized, according to a report from NOTUS. Boosie says the pair struck the deal with him last fall, presenting themselves as having serious connections inside Trump’s inner circle. On New Year’s Day, Boosie’s attorney allegedly received a call claiming Trump had already signed off on the pardon and that the White House simply hadn’t announced it yet. However, that pardon never came, and Boosie is now seeking to recover $300,000 under a contract clause he says entitled him to a partial refund if no pardon was delivered.
The firm is claiming their was a no refund policy and they had to come out of pocket for legal fees.
