You don’t hear Beyonce’ speak nor explain her personal family business…like never, however when Jay-Z surprised a crowd at The Roots Picnic sporting a flawless afro after rocking locs for over eight years, many had questions.  For the first time Beyonce’ decided to answer in a documentary video of Jay-Z removing his locs with Beyonce’ narrating.

For those inquiring minds that wanted to know, Jay-Z wanted to rock an afro in honor of his father at The Roots Picnic.  According to Beyonce’,  Jay-Z started growing his hair out when Blue Ivy was five years old, because she didn’t feel confident about her hair.  Jay-Z wanted Blue Ivy to see her own texture reflected in his, encouraging her to love her natural hair.
