Jay-Z Say’s He Was ‘Heartbroken’ Over Sexual Assault Allegations And Lawsuit

New York native, Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z, a rapper, record executive, producer, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur, is arguably the greatest rapper of all time. and as he prepares for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z’s debut studio album, ‘Reasonable Doubt,’ and the 25th anniversary of ‘The Blueprint,’  with a two day concert celebration at Yankee Stadium, he is reflecting of the shocking sexual assault allegations that had been brought against him, that he says had him “heartbroken’

Jay-Z opened up during his newly published GQ cover story, addressed the sexual assault allegations and lawsuit he previously faced saying,

“It was hard. Really hard. I was heartbroken,” … “We’re in a space now where it’s almost like consequence is not thought about enough. Because everything is so instant, you know what I’m saying?”

February 2025, the case was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled, and notably, there was no settlement.  But according to Jay-Z the whole allegation and court of public opinion thing took a toll on him.

“That whole [lawsuit thing], that s—t took a lot out of me. I was angry. I haven’t been that angry in a long time, uncontrollable anger.” … “You don’t put that on someone—that’s a thing that you better be super sure.”… “There was a line: no women, no kids. …We lived and died by that. So it’s strict for me, like it meant a lot to me.” … “I knew that we were going to walk through that because… it’s not true. And the truth, at the end of the day, still reigns supreme.”

As far as the two day celebration goes, more than 1.6 million people reportedly flooded Ticketmaster on Monday (March 23), all hoping to secure seats for his “Reasonable Doubt” and “The Blueprint” anniversary shows at Yankee Stadium. The two-night event, set for July 10 and July 11, celebrates the 30th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt” and the 25th anniversary of “The Blueprint.”
