Kevin Gates Spoke His Truth About Being Sexually Abused As A Child In A Powerful Interview On Club Shay Shay “He Dead” [VIDEO]

If you thought Kat Williams interview on the Club Shay Shay Podcast with Shannon Sharpe was powerful, it has nothing on what went down in the Shay Shay with rapper Kevin Gates.  Kevin Gates revealed to being a victim of sexual abuse as a child, and the man that caused him trauma?  “He dead.”  Shannon Sharpe gave Kevin Gates the freedom and space to speak his truth even giving Kevin Gates an exit ramp that Gates refused because he felt that the conversation was important.

“I really broke generational curses with that situation. People that came before me, they were r*ped. … Protect children. You’re not supposed to hurt children. I don’t respect those that pick on the weak. I don’t like bullies. You touch a kid; you’re supposed to d*e. Straight up. You r*pe a woman; you’re supposed to d*e. Straight up.” 

Kevin Gates,  a Grammy-nominated rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, is known for his raw honesty, philosophical outlook, and deep, autobiographical lyrics that explore themes like depression, poverty, and prison.  Kevin Gates with raw honesty said that for a long time he exhibited a lot of violence out of fear because of his childhood trauma that had put a strain on his relationship with his own mother, and was the force behind his single ‘Protect Children’.   Kevin Gates says he has created a space for men to heal.  Kevin Gates says he has turned his pain into purpose and he is healing the world because of it and his abuser is deservingly so “stretched”.
