Prayers are in order as it has been reported that former NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles Kevin Johnson was found dead at the age of 55 years old in what is being investigated as a homicide.
Kevin Johnson was found dead near a homeless encampment in L.A. on Tuesday. According to the medical examiner, his cause of death was listed as blunt head trauma and stab wounds. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is investigating it as a homicide. Investigators believe the former football player had been living at the encampment. Reportedly friends said Johnson had health issues later in life that led him to live on the streets, but they called him a wonderful friend who still made an impact on his community.
Kevin Johnson a Los Angeles native played at Texas Southern before being drafted in the 1993 NFL Draft going to the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. After the Patriots released Johnson that August, the defensive tackle made brief stops in Minnesota and Oakland as a practice squad member and training camp participant before the Eagles claimed him off of waivers in August 1995.
