Emmy Award-winning American sports journalist, author, and media personality, Jemele Hill, known for her work at ESPN, The Atlantic, and her podcast, “Jemele Hill is Unbothered,” stated that reading both Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir Worthy and Will Smith’s Will offers a fuller understanding of their complex relationship, suggesting that reading them sequentially (Jada’s first) provides insight, countering the narrative that Jada is the sole villain and showing their mutual struggles and growth within their marriage. Hill highlighted that many who only see Jada as the villain miss the nuances revealed in both books.
