Donald Trump Is Standing Ten Toes Down In Regards To Pardoning Diddy

Back in October of 2025 a Judge shocked many when he sentenced Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to 4 years and 2 months in prison, citing history of abusing women.  Many including team Diddy thought he was coming home that day with time being served.  The judge said a lengthy sentence was needed for deterrence and that he was unconvinced that if Combs is released, these crimes won’t happen again.  After the sentencing team Diddy moved on to plan B, C and D, with the prayer that the ‘Bad Boys Records’ founder would get home a lot sooner.   According to TMZ one of those other plans is/was asking President Donald Trump for a pardon, that according to TMZ is being taken into consideration and may happen as soon as this week however this is allegedly some of Trump’s staff members advising against the decision.  President Donald Trump in August of 2025 was asked about pardoning Sean Combs in an interview and his response was pretty much Diddy didn’t have his back while seeking re-election so that would be a “more likely no”.  It’s now 2026 and Team Diddy is still scrambling trying to get Diddy released however one of those rabbit in hat plans in which they ask Donald Trump for a pardon has been pulled and Donald Trump officially pushed the rabbit back down.

In a two-hour sit-down with New York Times reporters on January 7, 2026, Trump was given the names of several high-profile people who are imprisoned, including the 56-year-old music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and asked whether he would consider pardons for them. Though Combs allegedly wrote Trump a letter seeking clemency, Trump confirmed he is not considering granting Combs’ request.

Donald Trump said Sean Combs “asked me for a pardon… through a letter,” the president was asked when the alleged communication was sent. Trump said, “Oh, would you like to see that letter?”
