Mike Tyson and Robin Givens gave a now-infamous interview to Barbara Walters on ABC’s 20/20 in September 1988. During the joint interview, Givens described her eight-month marriage to the heavyweight champion as “torture, pure hell, worse than anything I could possibly imagine” while a stone-faced Tyson sat next to her. Robin Givens also mentioned he was a manic-depressive. The public nature of these accusations against the then-undefeated, undisputed world heavyweight champion was shocking. The negative public perception of Tyson, led to their divorce shortly after, and the marriage has remained a significant, controversial topic for both of them for decades. The interview sparked intense media speculation, painting Tyson as a volatile and potentially abusive figure. Givens was often portrayed as a “gold-digger” in return.
Fast-forwarding to 2025 seems that rapper Gucci Mane’s former manager Deb Antney is accusing Gucci’s wife Keyshia Ka’oir of pulling a Robin Givens remix in their recent interview with ‘The Breakfast Club,’ stating that she thinks Gucci appeared “drugged up” and that Keyshia Ka’oir just wanted “attention.”
Rapper Gucci Mane and his wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, in a recent interview promoting his new book, ‘Episodes’, along with his new album, opened up about Gucci Mane’s struggles with addiction along with, unbeknownst to many, schizophrenia.
On Tuesday, November 11, ‘The Breakfast Club’ released audio of Deb Antney sharing her thoughts on Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir’s recent interview on the show. In the audio clip, Antney explained that Gucci’s appearance on the show “just did not seem like him.”
“In a million years, you wouldn’t get to make me believe that he wasn’t drugged up or something wasn’t going on with him there,”… “I don’t feel she [Keyshia Ka’oir] should’ve came out nationally saying that that she said about her husband. It sounds like somebody that wants attention and that threw her husband out on the chopping block.”
Deb Antney doesn’t believe Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir’s interview was advocating for mental health.
