People don’t realize what it takes to produce a show, the biggest ingredient to any entertainment show is the chemistry in all aspects of it. Actress/comedian and Talk Show host Sherri Shepherd had that chemistry with her dear friend as her right hand man as executive producer, Jawn Murray, at the daytime talk show ‘Sherri’. That chemistry has been shaken up as it is being reported that on the eve of season 4 of the ‘Sherri’ show, executive producer Jawn Murray was let go.
Jawn Murray took to his social media to make is crystal clear that he and host Sherri Shepherd haven’t fallen out, behind being let go.
“Before you ask, yes, Sherri and I are fine! That’s one of my best friends in real life. I worked all summer to get her and aspects of the show ready for the new season”…I’m proud of what Sherri and I built together with this talk show. We achieved a lot in the face of considerable adversity….Thanks to all of you for the love you showed me along the way!…That’s all I have for now…”
Jawn Murray’s departure was preceded by a June 2025 scandal where he was accused of posting an “inappropriate” video that led to a complaint to the show’s human resources department.
Murray posted a video where he mused, “Is this a cultural thing? I’ve been noticing that predominantly the Black people in the bathroom wash their hands and some of the others don’t”. Staffers who found the video inappropriate filed a complaint. Some insiders have reported that his ouster has brought relief to the set, with one source noting that a “dark cloud is gone”.
Jawn Murray is a Washington, DC–based American TV host, commentator, executive producer, pop culture expert, media personality and social media influencer best known for hosting TV shows for Travel Channel, EPIX and NFL Network, as well as appearing on cable news channels like CNN, HLN and MSNBC.
