Every place that plays music as well as dancing in 2025 is blaring ‘Boots On The Ground’ no matter what race, creed, color or age you are, along with fans popping in heavy rotation. DJ’s across America are sick of spinning it and the request volumes for it but they comply to the fan favorite. It’s all in good, clean fun but you will always have a fun snatcher in every crowd and reportedly Carnival Cruise Lines is one of those fun snatchers.
Reportedly if you are about to go party on a Carnival Cruise Line, you have to leave your popping fan at home. Recently passengers have shared formal notices from Carnival outlining what the company describes as a renewed commitment to onboard safety and “respectful behavior.” The cruise line recently reinforced its code of conduct, banning marijuana (even if legal in some states), enforcing a 1 a.m. curfew for minors, and prohibiting non-battery handheld fans, citing safety concerns after the viral “Boots on the Ground” line dance.
Social media is calling out Carnaval Cruise Line saying that their fan ban along with some other rules are racist, while Carnival Cruise Line in a statement is saying, that the rules are intended to promote a more peaceful environment, not to signal any form of cultural erasure. Carnival says as a matter of fact these rules have been in place for years and put in a video in 2023.
“Unfortunately, certain media outlets have blown this matter out of proportion,”..”We have always had a wide variety of entertainment options and for the last several years we have communicated our expectations about guest behavior,”- Matt Lupoli, Senior Manager of Public Relations at Carnival Cruise Line, told Parade.
