Former Daycare Owner Who Shot Her Ex For Sexually Abusing Children Is Released From Jail [VIDEO]

Retired Baltimore police officer James Weems was found guilty of rape, sexual abuse of a minor and showing obscene matter to a minor. Court documents show the victims attended his ex-wife’s daycare, Lil Kidz Kastle. He came in contact with the children as he drove the van for the daycare.  Weems admitted to looking at pornography while he took the children to school. However, he claims he didn’t purposely show the children the imagery or touch them. His ex-wife, Shanteari Young, that owned the daycare who testified against him, received 4 years in prison after she shot James Weems in 2022 after learning about the allegations against him.   

Reportedly Shanteari Young, has been released from jail to a halfway house after serving 4 years.

In an interview following her release, Young thanked those who supported her throughout her incarceration, stating:

“One of the things I really want to say is I thank everybody for the support that they have given me…It has really helped me get through my prison sentence, and I’m just really thankful for that.”…“I’m glad to be out… and I’m just looking forward to rebuilding and giving back to the community like I was before.”…“I’m definitely glad that the justice system saw what happened, and he was sentenced to what he got. And that everybody can start trying to rebuild and move on.”

As of right now it is not known when Ms. Young will be released from the halfway house.
