From Outkast to Dr., André 3000 Receives An Honorary Doctorate From Berklee College of Music [VIDEO]

André 3000 has come a long way from “The Dungeon,” where André 3000 and Big Boi created Outkast’s iconic early albums in a clay basement in Atlanta, GA, to now adding the title of Doctor to his name.  Congratulations are in order as André 3000 has received an Honorary Doctorate from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

49 year old André Lauren Benjamin, professionally known as Outkast member André 3000 has many titles, rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and multi-instrumentalist.  Saturday André 3000 was recognized with the distinction of honorary doctorate from Boston-based Berklee College of Music He was recognized for his profound influence as an artist and innovator in culture during the school’s commencement ceremony.

 André 3000 in his speech to the graduating class of 2025, “I’m really excited to hear how y’all hear things. I’ve always been interested in the next, the future.” hence the explanation of his name 3000.
