Bishop T.D. Jakes Steps Down As Lead Pastor Of Potter’s House Passing The Torch To His Daughter And Son In-Law [VIDEO]

67 year old Bishop T.D. Jakes the senior pastor of The Potter’s House, a non-denominational American megachurch in Dallas, Texas, one of the largest in America made a shocking announcement that he would be stepping down as lead paster and passing the torch to his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts and son in-law, Touré Roberts.

The announcement came during Sunday morning’s service, where Bishop Jakes addressed his congregation directly about the upcoming change.

“You have been faithful to God, and you have been faithful to me,” “And I’m so grateful.”

Bishop T.D. Jakes then took to ‘X’ formerly known as Twitter with a lengthly message about stepping down:

“Today we shared with the world our long-held plans of purposeful evolution for The Potter’s House and our global church family.

Today marks the continuation of our willingness to evolve as a church and step into broader roles to make certain we continue to meet the needs of this sensitive moment in our collective history.”

Together, we shall unite for the betterment of this generation and the ones that follow.”

This announcement come following Bishop T.D. Jakes revealing  that his medical emergency he suffered during service in November 2024 was a massive heart attack.
