It was reported over the weekend that Southern University student, 20 year old Caleb Wilson, died following an of campus fraternity ritual. Caleb Wilson had been taking part in a ritual with members of Omega Psi Phi at North Sherwood Forest Community Park, where allegedly Caleb Wilson had been standing in a line as part of the initiation process when Wilson reportedly collapsed. NOLA native Caleb Wilson a mechanical engineering junior at Southern University in Louisiana, was pronounced dead after being taken to Baton Rouge General Hospital.
Caleb Wilson’s death sparked a social media debate over hazing rituals for those becoming members of the Divine Nine. Unfortunately, the what had happened was has gotten murky because it’s being reported that Caleb Wilson allegedly wasn’t where or doing what was told to authorities leading up to his passing.
According to local news WAFB 9, sources familiar with the matter revealed that 20-year-old Caleb was allegedly punched in the chest before he collapsed, it and was also discovered that they were actually at a warehouse in Baton Rouge. It’s being alleged that the fraternity members involved lied to police about the details of the incident.
Although Caleb Wilson’s passing has been deemed “suspicious in nature” by police, his cause of death is still undetermined at this time.
