Prayers are in order as it has been confirmed that Murder Inc. Founder Irv Gotti has passed away at the age of 54 years old.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed his passing on Wednesday, February 5, following rumors he had suffered another stroke and brain bleed. Multiple sources close to Irv Gotti’s family told TMZ he died Wednesday in New York City. It’s currently unclear exactly how he died.
Irv Gotti, was a noted record executive, music producer and entrepreneur, who rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Irv Gotti, born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr., played a key role in hip-hop and R&B records of the time, working with artists like Ja Rule, Ashanti and DMX, each of whom saw massive commercial success. Irv Gotti launched Murder Inc. after working as an A&R at Def Jam.
Irv Gotti had a history of health issues, including diabetes and last year, a rep for Irv Gotti confirmed that he’d suffered a stroke that he had recovered from.
