A day after Republican presidential candidate and former President of the United States Donald Trump won the 2024 US Presidential Elections, US President Joe Biden stepped into the White House Rose Garden to speak to the nation for the first time since his party’s poll defeat.
Unlike the insurrection on January 6, 2021 at the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., when a mob of supporters of then-U.S. President Donald Trump stormed the Capital in an attempted self-coup d’état, two months after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden has assured President elect that there will have an “orderly and peaceful” transition.
“Over the last 200 years, America has been carrying out the greatest experiment in self-government in the history of the world. That’s not hyperbole, that’s a fact. People vote and choose their own leaders and they do it peacefully. We are in a democracy, the will of the people always prevails,” ‘Yesterday, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory and I assured him that I would direct my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. That’s what the people deserve,”
Now that’s class.
Ironically a North Carolina man who participated in the 2021 Capitol insurrection requested on Wednesday to have his sentencing delayed because he expects President-elect Donald J. Trump to grant Jan. 6 defendants like him clemency, court records show. While campaigning, Donald Trump repeatedly said that he would pardon people facing charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the Capitol.
