WZAK’s Sam Sylk is so much more than a radio personality. As many title’s as Sam wears, we never hear about his athleticism. Recently Sam Sylk TKO’s for a cause when he participated in the Celebrity Knockout Challenge in Cleveland.
After participating in 3News’ day-long telethon in September to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, reporter/anchor Mike Polk Jr. had an idea. He wondered, ‘Why not keep the momentum going?’ Polk then invited friends to the Broadway club to mingle with the kids and join them in the gym for a basketball drill known as “knockout.”
That’s when, WZAK-FM radio personality and restauranteur Sam Sylk, decided he would lend the skills from his 7 NBA championships that he earned in his imaginary life.
Sam Sylk along with his friends, 3News GO! anchor Danita Harris, and four team members from the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, which streams Monday through Friday on YouTube: Garrett Bush, Jason Lloyd, Mike Lucas and Anthony Antonelli got beat up by the kids of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, in hopes of raising money to help with a much needed cause to help our children. (see below video).
Unfortunately Sam Sylk and friends got TKO’d by some kids, fortunately for a good cause. Donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs by clicking HERE.
