Music Fans were hyped when Lauryn Hill announced a tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her iconic Grammy award winning album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Then in June 2024, L Boogie and The Fugees announced a co-headlining tour that was set to kick off Aug. 9 in Tampa, Fla. and run for 18 dates. Unfortunately 3 days before it was set to kickoff, it has be quietly cancelled. Lauryn Hill took to social media to say that she and The Fugees weren’t going on their North American tour because of low ticket sales.
Fugees bandmate Pras has now filed a lawsuit against Lauryn Hill, alleging that she mismanaged the reunion tour, with his attorneys calling it a “veiled and devious attempt to make a big score for herself.”
The Queen of The Miseducation, Lauryn Hill has taken to social media responding to Pras Michael’s lawsuit with an education on the alleged concern in a seven-part breakdown..
“Some clarity and facts need to be presented,” “I’ve been silent and pushing through because I understood that Pras was under duress because of his legal battles and that this was perhaps affecting his judgment, state of mind and character.”
Lauryn Hill say’s that Pras was given a $3 million advance for the tour to pay said legal fees.
“Wyclef and myself deferred our full advances to make sure he had what he needed and was able to go. I covered most of the tour expenses, as the majority of the tour advance had gone to Pras,”
Lauryn Hill captioned her 7 part fact breakdown with “I’ll probably have more to say…”
